Great stability in all conditions from smooth water to surf means Viking Kayaks do not tip readily and are easy to get in and out of even in deep water. A grabline edging the rim provides a handhold, as do bow and stem handles. Deeply contoured moulded seating gives a wrap-around feel but does not cover or restrain any part of the body. There is no risk of getting trapped upside down, so no need to learn the eskimo roll. Self-bailing outlets drain water from the cockpit. A choice of vibrant colours provides high visibility.
Viking kayaks are equally at home in sea, river, lakes and streams. The open-top design allows complete freedom of movement and suits most body shapes and sizes. Most models are roomy enough for young children (or perhaps the family dog) to accompany adult paddlers. Scupper holes are positioned away from seating areas to help keep the seat dry in calm water.
The seamless polyethylene construction of Viking kayaks is much stronger than fibreglass. It handles everyday knocks effortlessly and is UV stabilised. Underwater contours achieve excellent stability to speed ratio and ensure that the kayaks track well with no need for a rudder.
With equipment securing points and hatches to under-deck storage, Viking kayaks are ideal for camping trips, picnics, or for carrying gear to favorite fishing and diving sites. All models are designed to be lightweight and can easily be transported on the roof of a car.
